Daman Art Edition

Daman's art scholarship initiative was established in 2011. Every year we invite talented UAE-based artists to take up a residency at the Art House in Düsseldorf, Germany in co-operation with Lepsien Art Foundation.

As part of their residencies, the artists create beautiful, exclusive artworks using serigraphy, silkscreen printing and other techniques to cover themes such as Eid and New Year, often using traditional Emirati motifs.

Each limited-edition artwork is individually dated, numbered, and signed by hand.

Jamal Habroush Al Suwaidi (born October 1971) is an Emirati artist. His artistic journey began at the age of 14 as a participant in art competitions organised in his city.

After graduating from high school, Jamal enrolled at the Sharjah Art Institute and took courses in drawing, sculpting and ceramics.

Jamal Habroush Al Suwaidi's work is influenced by his relationship with the environment of the UAE, and what it comprises, from both historical stereotactic notions, and concepts arising from change and prosperity.
