High Risk Diabetes Programme

Diabetes mellitus is a leading cause of mortality and morbidity worldwide. It imposes a substantial weight on health systems and societies across the world as it affects both individuals and their families and has a large influence on the economic and social development of a country. Daman launched its High Risk Diabetes Programme in 2009, in order to support our community and spread awareness about diabetes.

Daman’s High Risk Diabetes Programme is a tele coaching programme that encourages integrated educational and behavioural changes that help to reduce the risk of diabetes-related health conditions. The programme empowers its participants to self-manage their condition.

As part of the programme, the participant will receive monthly coaching calls from a qualified personal health coach, over the course of the year. Through the coaching journey different educational topics are covered, including:
  • Diabetes overview
  • Learning to live healthily with diabetes (Exercise and healthy eating)
  • Hyper and hypo glycaemia management
  • Diabetes complication
  • Dealing with neuropathy
  • Stress management
  • Hyperlipidemia and Diabetes
  • Vitamin D and Diabetes
  • Foot care
  • Importance of annual vaccine
  • Nutrition management
